With the train from Vienna to Lienz and then with the local train "Pustertalexpress" to our starting point SILIAN

Along the Austrian "Drautalradweg" and the Italian "Pusterbike" tour about 20km to TOBLACH/DOBBIACO.

We spent the eveneing exploring the region, the Toblacher See and the village and spent the night at a youth hostel (a former Grand Hotel)

My colleague and friend Nina and me

The youth hostel Toblach

On the next day we started our tour early in the cold morning up the nice offroad path of the former "Dolomitenbahn" passing by Toblacher See, through beautiful forests...

...stunning look-out point to the "3 Cime/ 3-Zinnen"

...passing by Dürrensee, looking towards Monte Cristallo

...and after about 20km uphill we reached the highest point at "Gemärk Pass/ Passo Cimabanche"

From here we now followed the "Lunga Via delle Dolomiti"

ofroad uphill towards Cortina d'Ampezzo...

through tunnels and over canyons...

Cortina d'Ampezzo was nice to see...but very crowded!

Therefore we continued our trip downhill along a nice bike track to the "Cadore valley"

In the late afternoon, after ~ 65 km we reached our goal: PIEVE DI CADORE

A nice alpine village - home of the famous painter Tizian

A painting of Tizian in the local church:

And the house, where he was born..

Exploring the surrounding in the park of "Monte Ricco" - with a fortress and a bautiful view back to the Dolomits and down to the "Lago di Cadore"

After a cold night we started the next day with a cool downhill part to the Piave valley along an abandonned local road...through tiny quiet villages...

later along canals...

to Lago di Santa Croce - where we made a stop for swimming...

...before we "climed" Passo di Fadalto...

...to reach Lago Morto - a chilly cold small lake - perfect for another refreshment!

...before we finally reached the goal of the day: VITTORIO VENETO

The old town centre "Seravalle"

On the following day we drove up and down smooth hills and a beautiful vineyard landscape...

the nice town Conigliano...

...and lots of fields and quiet villages...

before we reached TREVISO

A beautiful city with romantic canals...

Our last tour led us through the flat river landscapes of Veneto...

...first along the wetlands of river Sile...

and then zick-zack through fields and villages towards Mestre

...before we filaaly reached the bridge to VENICE!

We spent a nice evening strolling through the canals...and visiting the famous tourist spots...

...and had additional day reserved for a trip to BURANO

where we visited the glas museum...

and then made a boat tour around Venezia (Ospitale, Arsenale the Biennale gardens...)

Later we also visited the famous Peggy Guggenheim Museum..

On the next day we took the train back home to Vienna :-)
